“Grandma’s Shelf” captures the essence of hardworking, Talitha Nichols. Talitha sewed clothes and quilts using a push-pedal Singer sewing machine. The silver scissors hang from a wooden peg on the front of the shelf. The blue thread, silver needle, and silver thimble depicted on the old wooden shelf are from her sewing basket. The sewing supplies sit beside the sewing basket of yellow, blue, and white striped cloth. Nestled on the self are green English Ivy, white Lily of the Valley, and an old corked medicine bottle. All of which sits on a white lace doily. A blue hand towel hangs from another peg on the shelf.
